Should I Use Antibiotics Or Natural Treatments For Oral Yeast Infection Cure

Vaginal yeast infections are common among women, but did you know that there is another type of yeast infection that can afflict everyone? You could easily develop an oral yeast infection without knowing the signs or symptoms.

Thrush, also known as oral yeast infection, can invade the mouth quickly causing an array of different symptoms. It can affect men or women of any age.

Causes of an oral yeast infection

Oral yeast infections are caused by someone not having enough of the good bacteria in their body to fight bad bacteria. Most people who have these sort of problems are either chronically ill or infants.

Signs and symptoms

It is important to be aware of the signs of an oral infection. The methods of treatment for this disorder are more effective when started early.

The first thing that most people who are infection with thrush experience is a thick and creamy substance in the oral cavity. It will be especially prevalent on the tongue.

Once the oral cavity starts showing signs of thrush lesions will develop. These lesions exude a thick and clumpy white substance and often times begin bleeding. The results of this are very painful for the sufferer. These symptoms will be shortly followed by fever and difficulty swallowing anything.

An oral yeast infection can quickly get out of control if left untreated. This could lead to more serious diseases from this fungal infection travels into the body through the throat.

What does diagnosis involve?

At first onset of thrush like symptoms you need to make an appointment with your dentist. Where they can take a sample of the infection and examine it carefully under a microscope. If it is found that you do have thrush and the lesions appear to be traveling down your esophagus, the doctor may order more invasive tests. X-rays and endoscopic exams are both normal procedures that are used in the diagnosis of oral yeast infections.

How is an oral yeast infection treated?

If you are diagnosed with an oral yeast infection your dentist can prescribe some kind of antifungal medication. There are some really good probiotic yogurts on the on the market. They will help by replenishing your good bacteria throughout your entire digestive system.

People who develop thrush generally have underlying health issues. If you have developed this infection you will want to make an appointment with your family physician to find the cause of your compromised immune system.

The best way to eliminate the chances of oral yeast infections is by taking preventive measures. Always follow good oral hygiene and avoid foods with a lot of yeast in them. These foods will cause yeast infections in your oral cavity and digestive system.

Oral yeast infections do not have to be a problem. With a little care you can be free of these infections with minimal effort.

Yeast Infection - There’s Some Fungus Among Us!

INTRODUCTION: A vaginal yeast infection is often produced by a fungus called Candida albicans which is normally found in small numbers in the vagina. While it is definitely not a pleasant experience, there’s no need to spend too much time worrying.

Yeast infection is also more common after menopause due to declining estrogen levels, which thin the vaginal walls. It is usually not spread by sexual intercourse.

The only time Candida Albicans is a problem is when the conditions in its environment are such that it starts to grow and reproduce at an increased rate. When this happens a vaginal yeast infection is the result. If the yeast infection is left untreated, some physicians believe that the Candida Albican will continue to reproduce at an alarming rate. They feel that if the vaginal yeast infection is left untreated that it will create an imbalance in the bodies natural bacterias and the person’s immune system will become involved, in short the person will grow sicker and sicker.

SYMPTOMS: Signs of a yeast infections are liken to a number of other problems, including bacterial vaginosis (a bacterial infection of the vagina), trichomoniasis (a sexually transmitted disease), and contact or allergic dermatitis (a skin reaction to an irritating or allergic material).

They can sometimes include intense and unbearable itching, rash, a burning sensation, vaginal discharge, and pain during sexual intercourse. Your health care provider will ask about your symptoms and examine you. Your provider may collect samples of cells from places you are having symptoms, such as the mouth or vagina.

TREATMENT: Treating vaginal yeast infection may include a topical cream or tablet; the majority are applied inside the vagina at bedtime with an applicator. Treatment durations vary according to the formulation; 1, 3, and 7 day treatments are equally effective. Women with recurrent infections should use a longer course of treatment for infections, between ten to fourteen days for a topical (ointment or suppository) medication or fluconazole 150 mg orally with a second dose 72 hours later.

Treating with antibiotics can lead to ridding the yeast’s natural competitors for resources, and increase the severity of the condition. Treating it will not help or cure sexually transmitted disease such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, or trichomonas.

CONCLUSION: Let your provider help you be certain that yeast infection is the problem and, if it is, to determine why it’s not responding to treatment. If you feel that your yeast infection is immune to the over-the-counter treatment you are using, you can try using a new product, or go to your doctor for a prescription treatment.

A good home treatment for vaginal yeast infection is to boost your immune system through proper diet and complete sleep. Probably the easiest way to deal with a yeast infection is prevention. This may be a major “well duh”, but one of the best ways to treat a yeast infection is to wash yourself thoroughly at least once a day.

Chronic Vaginal Yeast Infections Need To Be Treated From The Root Cause

Five percent of women suffer from chronic vaginal yeast infections because they are still only treating the symptoms in their vagina. Just because you’re suffering from itching and burning in your vagina, that doesn’t mean that’s where you should attempt to cure your yeast infection. In doing this you’re only treating a symptom while the infection is running rampant in your intestines.

Candida overgrowth is something that happens in your whole body. It’s not just limited to the vagina. This is just where you’ll experience the worst symptoms because fungi love warm moist places, and this is the warmest and moistest place on the human body.

While you’re suffering from the itching and discharge in your vagina, the fungus is feeding and breeding in your intestines as well. This is why just applying anti fungal creams are not curing your infections. These creams only kill the fungus, they do not prevent the yeast that naturally lives in your body from mutating into more infection causing fungus.

You have had yeast living in your body for along time. The yeast isn’t a problem. The problem is your body is now allowing it to mutate because it can no longer keep it under control. Once you body regains the ability to keep the yeast under control it will no longer be able to mutate. Then your chronic yeast infections will stop.

Your body is more than capable of curing an infection and preventing them from reoccurring. Once you encourage your body to do this you’ll be infection free.

To stop the yeast mutating you must do the three things below

You must increase the amount of beneficial bacteria you have in your body. This bacteria is what keeps the Candida under control.

You must strengthen your immune system as this protects your body from all infections.

You must stop using anti fungal drugs as you will only encourage the fungus to keep mutating until it becomes resistant.

Once your body can stop the yeast from mutating your chronic yeast infections will stop, and then your health will go back to the way it was.

Fed Up With Ineffective Yeast Infection Remedies? Then Try These Cheap Home Cures For Yeast Infection

It may not kill you but a yeast infection can be really irritating. Yeast infection afflicts more women than men simply because of physical differences.

Unfortunately yeast infections tend to inflict themselves on women in their child bearing years. What these people need is a remedy that not only just cures the symptoms but also clears the underlying causes.

Although you may think that home cures for yeast infection are not a good option you should remember that women have been using these for years, so there must be something in that.

Generally a yeast infection is caused by an organism called candida albicans. This organism occurs naturally in the vagina. In normal circumstances, the growth of this organism is checked by a bacterium called Lactobacillus acidophilus which is an inhabitiant of the vagina.

Reduction of Lactobacillus acidophilus in the body is a prime reason for yeast overgrowth.

Lactobacillus acidophilus is affected by several things such as:

Tablets such as steroids, most antibiotics and the pill quite often destroy Lactobacillus and can upset the normal body balance.

Major body events such as menstruation and having a baby can cause hormonal imbalance this in turn can change the vaginal pH balance.

Sexual intercourse exposes the vagina to semen which may lead to a disruption of the acidic balance in the vagina which may again cause the bacterium to die.

Wearing tight clothes such as jeans is not recommended if you have had or are prone to having yest infections, lack of air to the skin causes sweating which in turn encourages yeast growth.

An improvement in your susceptibility to yeast infections can be cheaply had by not applying products to the skin that are heavily scented. Seek out non perfumed varieties instead.

Perhaps the most rewarding element of a home cure for yeast infection is that you can at last find a way to rid yourself of the complaint forever.

1. Many people swear by apple cider vinegar claiming that it helps stop the itching and burning very quickly.

2. If you can stand the taste of garlic then make use of this natural anti viral plant by adding it to your meals or taking it as a supplement.

3. Natural yoghurt is also another popular natural remedy, it is applied directly to the skin and has an immediate cooling effect. You must use the active with bio cultures version for this though as it contains good bacteria which get to work on killing off the yeast.

4. Some people say that drinking buttermilk every day helps them to keep infections away.

5. Cranberry juice and nectar is also pretty effective in combating yeast infection.

6. It is easy to forget but simply drinking water on a regular basis can help to cleanse your body of many toxins including thise produced by or responsible for infections.

7. Sugar needs to be completely eliminated if you are prone to yeast infections. Yeast thrives on sugar hence avoiding all kinds of chocolates, sweets and fruit juices can help you to get rid of yeast infection.

Hopefully this article has given you a good understanding that not all cures need to come from the pharmacy, there are many natural alternatives in addition to the above.

You Can Cure Recurrent Yeast Infections

Five percent of women suffer from recurrent yeast infections at some point in their life. Chronic Candia effects this many women because they have no idea how the fungus is infecting them. The fungus starts out as the Candia yeast, and we all have that organism living in our body.

Chronic Candida infections are the result of your body allowing the yeast to mutate into an aggressive fungus that then goes on to feed on your body, and the food that you eat. This feeding is what cause the itching in your vagina.

Using the same anti fungal drugs on your recurrent yeast infections will just make them worse. The fungus eventually becomes resistant, and this forces it to mutate into a stronger strain that will make your symptoms worse, and it will become harder to treat. Your doctor will just prescribe you more drugs that will just make it even more aggressive.

Frequent yeast infections need to be treated from the root cause. And the cause of your infections is, your body is allowing the Candida to mutate. So you must stop the mutating before you can cure your infection.

Prescription anti fungal drugs only kill the fungus that is causing the infections. These drugs don’t prevent the yeast that is living in your body from mutating into more fungus once the treatment stops. Only your body’s natural defenses can stop the Candida from mutating, so you have to strengthen these first. Once you have your body will be protected like it was before you started suffering from recurrent yeast infections.

The bacteria in your body, and your immune system are what keep the yeast under control so it doesn’t mutate. Even healthy people have Candida in their body. It is just kept under control so it doesn’t start causing infections.

You’ll stop suffering from your recurrent yeast infections once you strengthen your body’s natural defenses. To successfully cure yourself you must strengthen your body from the inside. Until you do you’ll keep suffering from Candida overgrowth.

How Long To Cure A Yeast Infection

No two fungal infections are the same so they take a different amount of time to cure for everyone. Some women really have a lot of trouble curing their infection, and it’s these women that usually ask how long it should take to cure an infection. The real problem is, they don’t know why they have the infection in the first place so they can’t treat it from the root cause.

The start of a fungal infection is the yeast that lives in your body naturally. Something in your body triggers the yeast to mutate into an aggressive fungus, and that’s when you start suffering from your symptoms. The itching in and around your vagina is one of them, and this is caused by the fungus feeding on your skin cells.

Your body is allowing the Candida to mutate, and to keep on applying the same anti fungal drug to your infection will only make it worse. You need to stop the yeast mutating, no drug will do this for you, only your body can do it. Your natural defenses have been compromised and you need to find out why.

You have a colony of friendly bacteria in your intestines and these keep the Candida under control by keeping their numbers down. When your friendly bacteria numbers are low then the numbers of yeast rise, and then they mutate.

Your diet can be causing the fungus to keep growing in numbers. Fungus loves sugar and any foods that contain sugar. These foods need to be avoided if you want to cure your infection as soon as possible.

If you have an underlying illness such as diabetes then this could be the cause of your infection. This is why it’s so important to see your doctor if you have trouble curing a yeast infection. If you are suffering from diabetes your doctor can try a different medication that will keep your blood glucose levels under control so you stop feeding the fungus.

You’ll be able to cure your infection when you discover the reason why the yeast is mutating in your body. The fungus that is feeding on the skin cells in your vagina will slowly destroy your health from the inside if you allow it to.

How Can I Tell if I Have a Candida Overgrowth ?

Depending where the Candida has spread, you could face all kinds of different symptoms.

Yeast infections are the most common symptom of a Candida overgrowth. Yeast infections or thrush can affect the skin, mouth and any other part of the body, and can cause redness, burning, and itching. These obvious symptoms are not the only thing to look out for, since not everyone even develops skin problems with an overgrowth.

If your Candida overgrowth originates from the intestines you can expect some discomfort from indigestion, gas, and bloating. Once an overgrowth in the intestines gains strength, and can cause other internal problems with the intestines and even spor into the blood stream, and spread the infection to other parts of the body.

When the yeast changes into it’s more dangerous form of Candidiasis, toxins can be released affected mood swings, and cause trouble concentrating, feelings of depression, anxiety and memory loss.

You may also become sensitive to perfume, tobacco smoke and petrol, or develop allergies.

Unexplainable weight loss or gain can also be attributed a Candida overgrowth, and change in diet is needed to assist in controlling this problem.

Bad breath or halitosis can be a more serious problem, since it can affect you both physically and mentally, this can be attributed to an infection of the tongue, but also an intestinal infection.

With so many warning signs, Candida can very rarely be accused without further tests from your doctor. However a simple home test can tell if you are likely to have Candida or not.

When you wake up in the morning spit into a clean clear glass of water, make sure to do this before anything else, first thing before you eat or brush your teeth. Leave it for up to half an hour, and if within that time the saliva sinks to the bottom, or it develops stings down to the bottom or the water turns cloudy, then you most likely have Candida, healthy saliva will sit on top of the water.

This test is fairly accurate but not perfect, you can also do a simple questionnaire that will tell you the likelihood of a Candida related problem. The questionnaire is to long to list here, but a simple search on Google will reveal the questionnaire for you.

Yeast Infection Symptoms - Learn to Read Your Body

It is important that we learn to observe our bodies in order to be able to tell when something is “off”. Yeast infection symptoms may differ depending on where the infection is located. Yeast infections are very widespread, yet tend to be one of the most mis-diagnosed and difficult of health problems.

It’s very normal for yeast or fungi organisms to exist on nearly every part of our body. The most common form of these organisms is Candida albicans. A yeast infection or Candidiasis arises when certain conditions are met that allow for an imbalance of the good and bad bacteria in our bodies which normally keeps this yeast “in check”. A yeast overgrowth or yeast infection is the unfortunate result of this imbalance.

Yeast infections show up in many forms such as a vaginal yeast infection a baby’s diaper rash or an oral yeast infection thrush.

Vaginal yeast infection symptoms normally result in a thick discharge that has a cottage cheese-like texture; however, not everyone experiences this symptom. There is normally burning, itching and irritation around the vaginal area and surrounding tissue. There may also be discomfort during sex and a burning sensation when urinating.

Yeast infection symptoms in babies and adults may appear as an oral yeast infection or thrush. Thrush symptoms include white, thick, curd-like patches that appear on or under the tongue and palate of the mouth with redness and irritation of surrounding tissue. These patches may look like they could be washed away easily; however, if upon scraping or other attempt to remove them, bleeding occurs-you can pretty much conclude that you have thrush. Thrush can make it difficult to eat or swallow normally-and severe thrush may cause dehydration due to difficulty with swallowing food and liquids. Babies may also experience skin yeast infections that a diaper rash, but have a distinct uneven edge, as well as “satellite” patches of rash in other areas.

Individuals with weak immune systems due to serious illness such as AIDS or cancer may experience yeast infection symptoms that affect internal organs and result in organ dysfunction and severe pain. Individuals with AIDS may experience yeast infections of the esophagus (esophagitis) and upper gastrointestinal area. While these infections have similarities to thrush, they are more severe and normally extend down the throat, esophagus and stomach. Resulting ulcers may affect the throat, esophagus and gastrointestinal system causing painful and difficult swallowing.

While these are a few of the most common yeast infection symptoms, an ongoing or chronic yeast infection could end up causing a long list of long term symptoms including fatigue, brain fog, stress or anxiety, bloating, migraines, sugar cravings and irritability, among others.

If this is your first yeast infection, it’s always wise to consult with your doctor to confirm the diagnosis prior to self treating. The presence of severe symptoms such as fever or pelvic pain may indicate a more serious condition.

Causes Of Yeast Contamination

Yeast infection is a condition that affects the body’s mucous membranes for instance the mouth, skin, intestines and the vagina. Yeast contamination causes a very uncomfortable discomfort and distention in the areas afflicted. To be able to know the adequate medication to be administered to a yeast infested region, it is very important to point out the source of the infection.

Yeast contagion is unequivocally connected to an instability of a fungus commonly known as Candidiasis. First of all, it is important to distinguish that yeast infection is not induced by one entity, the causes are several ranging from hormonal changes in the body to sexual relations, way of life and stress to mention but a few. The hormonal lack of balance brought about by stress has been experienced to be a major reason of yeast contagion.

To the same degree, if one consumes antibiotics and/or steroids excessively, it may also lead to a yeast contamination. Note that Fungus Candida is an opportunistic fungus that attacks vulnerable regions in the body. Therefore using antibiotics for a prolonged period of time will make the exposed areas produce extra Candida which finally causes the infection.

Yeast in men is hugely attributed to sexual relations with a woman who has the contamination. Poor personal hygiene, leaving susceptible areas such as the vagina damp at all times makes an excellent environment for the micro organisms to proliferate. Dress in tight-fitting clothing, specially the under garments can also produce a yeast infection. This is for the reason that it produces discomfort, and fungus Candida prospers fine on irritated skin.

Employing certain items such as washing products, douche products, perfumes or any perfumy product that tend to bring about irritations can also bring about a yeast contamination. Thus, it is vital to keep away from anything that causes an excessive amount of Fungus Candida.
