3 Types of Male Yeast Infections
What most men know about yeast is that it is an important ingredient in beer and the distilling process of wine. What they don’t know is that yeast can affect them in ways they never imagined through yeast infections. Because this can happen to men, you need to know what to do if this ever does happen to you.
First and foremost there is Balanitis, which is something that men will be greatly concerned about, especially when it happens to them for the first and hopefully only time. You will experience a burning on the tip of your penis and it will start to itch. This is caused by your partner and will be very sore after sexual activity.
When you have balanitis, there is a chance that you will start to see red tender spots on the tip of your penis. The tip might even be swollen and producing some sort of white substance that is nowhere near the white substance you want to be seeing. These are basically a flakiness on the tip of your penis, and while it’s not life threatening you need to get it fixed quickly.
Next there is what is known as a leaky gut. This type of yeast infection is the product of systemic candida. While this type of yeast infection progresses you will get tired and achy, and you will not have much energy. You’ll begin to suffer from indigestion and you will develop a gut that won’t seem to go away no matter what you do.
You will have trouble concentrating and won”t be able to focus at all. You may also become depressed. This is called a leaky gut because it actually leaks out of the gut and has an affect on every single system. Make sure that you get this treated immediately because your life will be greatly affected by it.
The last kind of male yeast infection is the one you really have to be concerned about; Candidemia. Candidemia is the kind that you can actually die from if do not treat it soon enough. With this kind of infection, the candida organism has entered your bloodstream. Although this is three times more common in men than women, it can be deadly for women as well.
A lot of the time this yeast infection is caught at a hospital especially if you have aids or are receiving cancer treatment. If you suspect that you have this yeast infection then talk to your doctor. Fortunately you were probably already at the hospital so it will be no problem at all.
