A Look into Yeast Infections

It is arguable that the most commonly known yeast infection in the world is thrush. It is in the form of candidiasis and it affects primarily the female genitalia. It is rare, and certainly not impossible for men to contract the disease either. A yeast infection has no preference to gender, and it will simply attack certain parts of the human body. That set up the conditions for growth.

Yeast infections occur in the skin or mucous membrane in humans via fungi called Candida. If observed in a culture it would look like a round colonies of white or off-white organisms. One of the most famous species is known as Candida albicans. It should be acknowledged that this is not the only organism that can result in a yeast infection in men or women.

Candida albicans is a peaceful, flora in the human body that is normally kept at bay by other bacteria in the body. It loves warm dark places in the body such as armpits, the mouth, the ears, and down below. I hope you know what I mean, when I say, down below. It also will make its place in human skin, and under the folds of skin, such as around the belly.

Candidiasis is known as a yeast infection, because the species form, is that of a yeast cell. At the formation of the yeast cell duplicates itself by cloning a genetic match. These bulbs would then grow out of the yeast cells, and will remain attached until they decide to let go.

Do you know what causes a yeast infection? The human body has to be at a certain temperature and pH level. These levels have to be balanced, along with its partner bacteria, which will allow it to grow without disturbing other flora. When the temperature and pH levels change some other bacteria will die. You guessed it, this leaves the Candida albicans cells to turn into fungi, and to get out of control, because it’s competing bacteria is no longer available.

Candida albicans fungi have a rather unpleasant way of marking their territory during their growth phase. You may feel sensations that include burning, itching, tingling, which may result in soreness. It is possible to feel more than one of these symptoms at the time. I’ll caution you not to scratch the affected area, because that’ll only allow the overgrowth of the fungi to get worse.

Other signs of a yeast infection include mood swings, depression, anxiety, your ability, cravings for sugars, alcohol cravings, or cravings for carbohydrates. These are the very things that the organism wants to grow. Isn’t it amazing how they can somehow get the brain to crave what they need. Even though it’s not in our best interest.

A yeast infection is a serious issue that needs to be dealt with, because it can be fatal. This is true for people that may be older or younger people, or those with HIV or AIDS. Diabetics need to be especially aware of yeast infections, since they don’t heal as well as the general population. On the positive side, if the yeast infection is treated accurately and properly it can be completely eradicated.

Discover how any Women can be Yeast Free

Most women will suffer re-occurring yeast infections throughout their life, with up to 75% of women suffering a yeast infection at some point.

Being such a common problem for women, you may ask where does this yeast come from.

You may be surprised to realise that both men and women carry this yeast, with up to 90% of all the population carrying Candida on their skin and in their body.

Candida yeast resides naturally in the majority of the population, but we are lucky enough to have good bacteria that keeps the yeast from spreading into an infection.

If you lower the levels of these helper bacteria, then the yeast will grow and spread into an infection. The most common cause of this antibiotics, after a course of antibiotics your body will be low on good bacteria since antibiotics do not distinguish between good and bad. This is the perfect time for Candida yeast to grow.

Because women’s bodies are different they have the unfortunate problem of having a higher susceptibility to developing these yeast infections.

You will find that fluctuations in hormone levels are responsible for promoting Candida yeast. That is why taking the pill, pregnancy, and monthly cycles can all contribute to your yeast problem. Most of these can’t be helped, but you can do your best to keep your helper bacteria high to counteract the chances of infection. It is also possible to see your doctor about alternatives to the pill, if infections become to common.

However diet can also affect a woman’s hormone levels, and immune system. Many women do not realise that while they may not take antibiotics, much of the meat in food is pumped with antibiotics and hormones to make it healthy and grow quicker. When you consume this food the antibiotics lower your good bacteria, and hormones affect your own levels causing yeast to spread.

Any women can become yeast free with the right diet, however since yeast resides in men too, it only makes sense that the male partner should change his habits too.

Because yeast can be passed back and forth between partners quite easily, you could just keep re-infecting yourself if they do not cleanse their body of yeast at the same time as you.

The majority of men will not even be aware they have contracted a yeast infection, since most infections are internal and when they do surface are identified as jock itch or heat rash.

When a women is suffering the burden of constant re-occurring yeast infections or yeast related problems, they need to get their partner to go on a full Candida cleanse with them, to permanently stop the suffering.

3 Types of Male Yeast Infections

What most men know about yeast is that it is an important ingredient in beer and the distilling process of wine. What they don’t know is that yeast can affect them in ways they never imagined through yeast infections. Because this can happen to men, you need to know what to do if this ever does happen to you.

First and foremost there is Balanitis, which is something that men will be greatly concerned about, especially when it happens to them for the first and hopefully only time. You will experience a burning on the tip of your penis and it will start to itch. This is caused by your partner and will be very sore after sexual activity.

When you have balanitis, there is a chance that you will start to see red tender spots on the tip of your penis. The tip might even be swollen and producing some sort of white substance that is nowhere near the white substance you want to be seeing. These are basically a flakiness on the tip of your penis, and while it’s not life threatening you need to get it fixed quickly.

Next there is what is known as a leaky gut. This type of yeast infection is the product of systemic candida. While this type of yeast infection progresses you will get tired and achy, and you will not have much energy. You’ll begin to suffer from indigestion and you will develop a gut that won’t seem to go away no matter what you do.

You will have trouble concentrating and won”t be able to focus at all. You may also become depressed. This is called a leaky gut because it actually leaks out of the gut and has an affect on every single system. Make sure that you get this treated immediately because your life will be greatly affected by it.

The last kind of male yeast infection is the one you really have to be concerned about; Candidemia. Candidemia is the kind that you can actually die from if do not treat it soon enough. With this kind of infection, the candida organism has entered your bloodstream. Although this is three times more common in men than women, it can be deadly for women as well.

A lot of the time this yeast infection is caught at a hospital especially if you have aids or are receiving cancer treatment. If you suspect that you have this yeast infection then talk to your doctor. Fortunately you were probably already at the hospital so it will be no problem at all.

Candida Diet Recipes will add More Flavor and Variety to your Diet

Candida diet recipes can make an otherwise boring diet much more interesting and flavorful. As anyone who has ever followed a Candida diet can tell you, there are many foods that must be omitted. It is necessary to find or create menus that offer lots of flavor and interesting texture in order to keep it from becoming boring and tasteless.

Fructose, dextrose, lactose, and any other form of sugar can not only stop Candida from getting better, it will in fact make it quite worse. There are sugars hidden in many items where we would not expect it to be. This is why it is necessary to always check labels to ensure that it is not an ingredient. Fruit is high in natural sugar. Even though the fruit is good for you, the sugar that it contains may create a serious worsening of your Candida. If you choose to eat fruit on your Candida diet, you must limit it to a very small amount each day.

Any foods which have been aged will definitely make your Candida worse. Leftovers, mushrooms, truffles, wine, and most cheese should be eliminated from the diet. Anything which may possibly have mold spores or fungus will encourage Candida to grow within your body.

You may eat cheeses, but only if they are melted. They must also not be aged, such a blue cheese, gouda, and the like. You may use your allowed cheese to make lasagna or may be even a chef’s salad. Fresh vegetables, especially leafy vegetables are encouraged on the Candida diet, so you may make this as big as you like.

The way that cattle is raised these days is of great concern to many individuals. It is commonly known that hormones, antibiotics, and many other artificial supplements are used to keep them healthy, and cause them to grow larger. The results of this can make a person’s battle with Candida even worse. It is recommended that only organic meats eat and the Candida diet.

Yogurt which contains acidophilus is a great place to start in fighting the after affects of Candida. Just be careful with the fruit. If the yogurt does contain fruit, you should consume only a few tablespoons. Plain yogurt it a better choice, and may be eaten freely. Acidophilus is also available in the form of pills or liquid, and will be helpful in eliminating the Candida.

With the Candida diet you can eat a great variety of fresh vegetables. Fresh vegetables can be chopped for a salad, made into a soup, or used in a casserole. The possibilities are endless, and you should have plenty to eat.

Now that you are familiar with the Candida diet, and some of the things that you may or may not be, you will be able to create some of your own Candida diet recipes. You will also be able to find many cookbooks available.

Some All Natural Cures To Prevent Yeast Infection Problems From Ever Troubling You Again

In order to suffer from a yeast infection no more you need to understand a little more about how Candida works and what makes it thrive in your body.

There are two basic types of yeast infection acute attacks and more severe chronic ones.

Acute attacks are best dealt with by the application of a preparation directly to the affected area of skin.

A dual approach is required for a chronic yeast infection, treatment of the local area with ointment but a further investigation into the underlying causes of the infection itself.

The only practical long term solution lies in seeking out a natural cure.

You have it in your power to prevent yeast infection problems from occurring ever again by making your body a much less inviting place for Candida Albicans to thrive.

The first step is to ensure your immune system is in good health and as strong as possible.

Sensible things to avoid doing are smoking and drinking too much which can both weaken your bodily defences.

Next you need to control your diet, eating the correct food is another important weapon to help prevent yeast infection problems.

Changing your diet need not be the be all and end all but take note of the general foods that you need to avoid:

Sugar: everybody loves sugar in some form or another including Candida, the trouble is the friendly bacteria and your immune system, do not.

Sugar is your enemy where yeast infections are concerned Candida thrives on it and only makes your problems more severe.

Yeasty foods: you need to try cutting these products out of your diet and looking for alternatives.

Unfortunately this means cutting out usual treats such as cakes, biscuits and anything with a breaded coating such as chicken fingers.

If you look in one of the larger supermarkets near to you then you will probably find alternative products.

Consumption of alcohol: drinking to excess will affect your immune system so is best avoided.

These are just some of the natural cures for yeast infections that you can try.

There are many other options to try but hopefully the above list has given you a start to having a yeast infection no more.

Are You Suffering From A Mouth Yeast Infection

Have you recently been taking antibiotics for an infection? Do you have to use oral steroids to control issues that you have with respiratory distress? If you use antibiotics, your immune system weakens. When you use oral steroids or an inhaler to help treat your asthma, you may be at risk for a mouth yeast infection. Don’t worry, you’re not alone. There are several other groups of people who have high risk factors for getting this type of infection.

An oral yeast infection is also known as thrush, or a thrush infection. Thrush often occurs in individuals who have been taking antibiotics for extended periods of time, those who are on steroid inhalers, newborn babies that are breast fed and several other groups. Many times, oral thrush goes undetected and can cause serious problems.

People who have type I or II diabetes also have been diagnosed frequently with oral thrush infections. The human body, when fully healthy, attacks the Candida that is present in everyone’s mouths. Those who have never suffered from oral thrush cannot fully understand just how painful and annoying it can be.

Signs that indicate oral thrush include white, creamy patches inside the mouth and throat. These patches can be as small as a pin head or can completely envelop a patient’s entire mouth. Not only do these patches affect the roof of the mouth, they can also appear at the back of the mouth and on all parts of the tongue. Many times, an individual who is suffering from an oral thrush infection will have a thick coating that appears on their tongue, making it difficult and painful to eat or drink.

These white spots often have the visual appearance of cottage cheese. They can grow quickly and spread from one side of the mouth to the other and can also spread back into the mouth. When the Candida takes over an individual’s entire mouth, it is not uncommon to find the tonsils also infected. This can quickly spread down the back of the throat and into the digestive tract and stomach.

When a thrush infection spreads past the mouth, it becomes harder and harder to control and cure. Thrush infections can be quite painful. Managing thrush pain can be difficult as many physicians don’t like to give out narcotic pain medicine. Until you’ve actually experience a severe case of thrush, you have absolutely no idea just how bad it can be.

In most cases, thrush is easy to recognize and diagnose by any member of the medical community. Normally, just looking inside of an individual’s mouth will provide a physician with all of the proof they need to determine your case. If your doctor or nurse has doubts or questions about whether or not you have a case of oral thrush, they may take a small specimen of one of the patches to send to the lab. This will help them know how to best treat your symptoms.

When you’ve got a mouth yeast infection, seek medical advice quickly. This can be a very painful infection and you must stop it from growing beyond your mouth. You’ll be given oral or intravenous anti-fungal medications that will eliminate the infection. Always seek professional advice when you are dealing with any oral infections.

Natural Yeast Infection Treatments Really Work

When it comes to treating a yeast infection, you should look for a product that will effectively treat the root of the problem. There are many treatment options to choose from when treating Candida, but the majority of them focus on treating the symptoms rather than treating the root cause. A yeast infection is just like anything else; if you don’t find a remedy that will treat the root of the problem, it will come back once you stop the treatment.

Natural Options

You have likely used different over the counter medications that seemed to work really well. Have you ever noticed that the problem comes back once you stop taking the medication? Usually it comes back just as bad as it was to start with. This is because the medication was just masking the symptoms and not treating the cause. The great thing about using natural yeast infection treatments is that they are formulated to treat the cause of the condition. Natural treatments are not designed to mask the symptoms so that it appears that the infection has cleared up.

Many of the more conventional medications used to treat yeast infections fail because they clear up the symptoms but leave yeast cells behind on the skin. These remaining yeast cells hang out waiting for the conditions and temperature to be just right. Once the conditions are perfect, they begin to multiply and spread again.

Once this happens you will have to make another trip to your doctor’s office and begin treatment once again. The cycle continues. Many people have been to see their doctor countless times for treatment of yeast infections and never get any kind of explanation about why the infection keeps coming back.

What your Doctor Does Not Tell You

Plenty of people feel that the biggest reason why doctors don’t let you know what the reason is for the recurring yeast infections is it wouldn’t be in their best interest. The drug companies have a legal obligation to profit from the products they produce. However, there is nothing saying that the products they create have to be useful. There is no legal requirement to make drugs that really work. This means that the medication you are using is not necessarily going to help just because a physician prescribed it for you.

It is estimated that about 75% of the population will get a yeast infection sometime in their lifetime. While a yeast infection is a common problem, it can really affect a person’s quality of life if left untreated. Using a natural yeast infection treatment can clear up the infection once and for all.

However, you still need to choose natural yeast infection treatments with care. Not every one of them will work. In fact, some of the treatments that are advertised are really unsafe. Like anything else, you need to do some research when looking for a natural treatment.

Natural treatments are kind to the body, they have no side effects, they can work in just a matter of hours and they can really help to improve the quality of your life. So if you are suffering from a yeast infection, don’t be afraid to try something different. Conventional medications are not always as great as they are advertised to be.
